Racing For A Cure

My Message
Since 2010 I've been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) and went through some very hard times. Finding the "right" medication took several years. March 2014 my rheumatologist put me on Humira and a few weeks later I started to feel better. Time to put some action into my life again! I decided to give running a try. In the beginning I ran for only a few seconds a day. That was then a big accomplishment! For the first time in years it felt like I had control over my own body again. This feeling became an addiction and I started to run more and longer. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone, with my body as my coach! In October 2014 I joined Racing For A Cure. Determined to run for those who can't anymore, to spread awareness and to kick Ankylosing Spondylitis! In 2014 I competed in two 5K races. In 2015 my main goal was to raise awareness for Ankylosing Spondylitis. I started up a team with awesome runners who help me raise awareness around Europe. For me 2015 was an amazing year... Never thought I would be able to run a half marathon, but I did... twice! And almost every race I run, I manage to smash my PR. I feel stronger than I ever felt before. AS sometimes kicks me hard, but I kick AS back even harder! 2016 I would love to raise money and find a cure so my story ends with "and she ran happily ever after" Want to follow me, my trainings and my races?
